We are a new academy and are onboarding our first teachers now. We are not taking bookings yet, and we would rather say that plainly than take your money and keep you waiting.

If you register your interest, we will contact you before we open to the public. After-school slots between 4pm and 8pm fill first, so early registrations get first choice.

Yes, and most families do. Each child has their own one to one lesson at their own level rather than sharing a slot, because siblings are rarely at the same stage even when they are close in age.

We will try to arrange consecutive slots so the whole thing happens in one block of your evening rather than twice.

No - that describes most of the children we teach. Our teachers explain in English and introduce Arabic gradually. Nothing is assumed.

This is different from some local madrasahs, where instruction may assume Urdu, Bengali or Arabic is spoken at home. A child who speaks only English is our typical student, not an exception.

From around four for short sessions on the Arabic letters, and from five or six for structured Qaida lessons.

There is no upper limit. Older beginners often progress faster than young children because they already read fluently in English. If your child is twelve and has never started, that is not too late - it is simply a different starting point.

A laptop, tablet or phone with a working camera and microphone, and a reasonably stable internet connection. A laptop or tablet is easier than a phone because the screen is bigger and the child’s hands stay free.

If your child is already using a Qaida or Mushaf, have it with them. If not, we will tell you which book to get after the first lesson - there is no need to buy anything in advance.

Register your interest and tell us your child’s age, what you would like them to learn, and roughly where they are now. We will contact you as soon as lessons open, match a teacher, and arrange a free trial lesson. If the trial is not right for your child, that is the end of it and you owe us nothing.

With 12 hours notice or more, the lesson is rescheduled at no cost. With less notice we will still try to reschedule, though we cannot always guarantee it.

If your child is ill or something has happened at home, tell us and we will reschedule. We will not be difficult about notice periods in those situations.

You receive a short written note after every lesson: what was covered, what to practise before the next one, and what comes next. Nothing long - a few lines you can read in thirty seconds.

You can also sit in on any lesson at any time, which tells you more than any report.

Yes, at any time, without giving a reason. Ask and we will arrange it.

Teaching a child is partly about personality, and sometimes a pairing simply does not work. That is nobody’s fault and you should not feel awkward about saying so.

Our teachers are graduates of Al-Azhar University in Cairo and are based in Egypt. They teach in English.

Every teacher will have a full profile on this site: their real name, photograph, the qualification they hold and the institution that granted it. We do not use stock photographs and we do not list teachers by first name only.

Yes, for a daughter or a son, and you do not need to give a reason. We will not ask for one.

We do not charge more for female teachers. If your regular teacher is unavailable one week, we will not substitute a male teacher without asking you first.

30 minutes for younger children, 45 minutes from around age nine. Twice a week suits most children learning to read; three times a week for structured memorisation.

Two 30-minute lessons will take a child further than one 60-minute lesson. Children forget a meaningful amount within about four days, so frequency matters more than length.

The minimum needed to teach them: first name, age, level, lesson times and progress notes. We do not ask for your child’s surname, school, address or photograph, and we do not need them.

The account is held by you, not by your child. We do not profile children and we never use their data for marketing.

Our privacy policy sets out the full detail, including how long we keep things and how to have data deleted.

Contact us directly. You will reach one named person, not a general enquiry form, and you will not be asked to raise it with the teacher first.

We respond within one working day. Where a concern relates to a child’s safety, the teacher does not take any further lessons while it is being looked into.

If you are worried about a child’s immediate safety, do not wait for us: contact the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000, or the police on 101. In an emergency, call 999.

Not currently, and we would rather tell you that than imply otherwise.

This is exactly why the camera rule and your right to join any lesson matter so much - they are what stands in place of a recording.

You may record your own child’s lesson for their personal use. We ask that you tell the teacher you are doing so, and that recordings are not published or shared publicly.

No. Teachers do not give out or ask for phone numbers, email addresses or social media accounts, and they do not message children.

All lesson arrangements - times, changes, cancellations - go through the academy, never privately between a teacher and a child. A teacher who breaks this rule stops teaching with us that day.

Yes - any lesson, any time, without telling us in advance and without giving a reason.

Some parents sit in on every lesson, some on the first few, some drop in occasionally. All of that is normal and welcome. No teacher will ever ask you to leave, and no teacher will suggest your child works better without you there.

No, and we will explain why rather than leave you guessing.

Our teachers are based in Egypt. A UK Enhanced DBS check searches UK police records only - it has no access to any overseas records. For someone who has never lived in the UK, a DBS certificate would come back empty even if it could be obtained, so it would tell you nothing.

If another academy tells you their overseas teachers are DBS checked, that claim is worth questioning.

What we do instead: teacher cameras stay on for the entire lesson, there is no private contact of any kind between a teacher and a child, and you can join any lesson without notice. Our full safeguarding page sets this out in detail.

We will confirm this when we publish our pricing. Most academies offer something for a second and third child, and we expect to do the same.

What we will not do is put two siblings in one lesson and call it a discount. They are rarely at the same stage, and one of them always ends up waiting.

Tell us in writing with two weeks notice. No reason needed and we will not ask for one, and there is no cancellation fee.

Any lessons you have paid for and not taken are refunded. Our full refund policy sets out the detail.

Yes. Give us one week’s notice and we will hold your regular slot for up to six weeks. You are not charged while lessons are paused.

Families pause for half-term, the summer holidays, exam periods and Ramadan. We build the schedule around the British school year rather than against it.

Yes. No card details, no subscription starting quietly in the background, no obligation.

It is a full lesson rather than a sales call, and you are welcome to sit in. If it is not right for your child, that is the end of it and you owe us nothing.

We have not published our prices yet, because we are still onboarding our first teachers and we would rather set a rate we can hold than advertise one and change it.

For context, the UK market for one to one online Quran lessons generally runs between £20 and £45 a month for two 30-minute lessons a week. When we publish our pricing it will be in pounds sterling, with no joining fee and no minimum term.
